The Commission on Health Care Services is a liaison with health systems (hospitals, clinics, health plans, HMOs and others) to encourage fair treatment of and representation by family physicians, to cooperate in plans and programs for improving services and standards in the health care system, and to advocate for fair compensation for new services and fee settlements. The commission also addresses mental health and substance abuse issues.
