WHEREAS, the WAFP works to influence health care policy, and

WHEREAS, the WAFP seeks innovative solutions to health care problems, and

WHEREAS, the WAFP, with more than 2,600 members, is the largest medical specialty organization in Washington State, and

WHEREAS, currently available Medicare insurance plans do not adequately provide the administrative and financial resources needed by family physicians to provide the NCQA defined personal medical home, and

RESOLVED, that the WAFP advocate on behalf of its members with all companies which offer Medicare Advantage plans in Washington State, in order to request them to offer Medicare insurance products in the State of Washington that pay family physicians at average commercial insurance rates, and also provide payment for the work of providing the NCQA personal medical home, and be it further

RESOLVED, that the WAFP encourage member physicians to apply for certification of their practices to provide the personal medical home, and also educate and support member physicians to gain NCQA certification in order to provide the personal medical home and new model of care to our patients, and be it further
