WAFP Annual Banquet & Foundation Auction
Practice Enhancement Day (NEW!) / Student & Resident Track

May 1, 2009
The Davenport Hotel, Spokane, WA

You are invited to attend the newly developed WAFP Practice Enhancement Day. Members can look forward to insightful sessions combined with evidence-based medicine; satisfying several Maintenance-of-Certification requirements for the ABFM; and demystifying the PQRI reporting process.

From 6:00 – 10:00 p.m., come and socialize at the family physician event of the year, the WAFP Annual Banquet and Foundation Auction. The 2009 WAFP Physician Awards and Resident & Student Scholarships will be awarded, the new officers will be installed, and you will help support the WAFP Foundation (so don’t forget your bidding paddles).

Practice Enhancement opportunities:

  • Complete up to TWO ABFM Maintenance-of-Certification Self-Assessment Modules (SAMs) in one-day (knowledge assessment portion completed in a group setting)! Choices available: Diabetes (offered twice), Pain Management, and Asthma.
  • NEW! Training for the ABFM’s Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) diabetes registry. The registry has been approved by CMS for physician interested in receiving PQRI incentive payments from CMS. It also satisfies your ABFM’s Maintenance-of-Certification Part IV requirement.
  • Full-day Student & Resident Track designed by and for medical students and Family Medicine residents. This is also an excellent opportunity for networking for students & residents. Topics this year include: Neonatal Care, panel presentation on How to Implement the Medical Home, EKG Workshop, and a Resident Panel Q&A.
  • Pharmaceutical-free environment

So join your fellow family physicians from around the state for networking and mentoring opportunities, satisfy continuing medical education and recertification requirements, and discuss practice enhancement strategies specific to Family Medicine. Don’t miss out! Mark the dates on your calendar and register NOW!

If you have questions, please contact Jessica Solberg at the WAFP office, 425-747-3100 or jessica@wafp.net.

The Primary Care Update Conference, sponsored by the Area Health Education Center and Inland Empire Academy of Family Physicians will be held May 1-2 at the Red Lion at the Park in Spokane.  Online brochure available at: www.ahec.spokane.wsu.edu/documents/2009/PCU2009BrochPgs.pdf
