If you are interested in getting more involved in your state and national academies, consider becoming a delegate to American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) annual National Conference of Special Constituencies (NCSC).
The 2012 NCSC will be held Thursday, May 3 - Saturday, May 5, in Kansas City, MO. The NCSC is held at the same time as the AAFP Annual Leadership Forum (ALF).
The NCSC convenes delegates from the five recognized special constituencies to discuss issues facing family physicians and to work on resolutions proposing policy direction for the Academy. The WAFP is committed to send delegates representing each of the five special constituencies, defined as:
NCSC offers its delegates an excellent opportunity for leadership development as well as fellowship with other family physicians from around the United States who are interested in policy development and the future of the specialty. There are opportunities to stand for election to leadership positions for the conference or to represent your constituency as a delegate to the AAFP Congress of Delegates.

If you are selected to represent the WAFP as a delegate to NCSC, the Academy will reimburse eligible expenses (with the submission of a delegate report and original receipts).
