WAFP Foundation
The
Washington Academy of Family Physicians Foundation
(WAFP Foundation) is the philanthropic arm of the Washington Academy of Family Physicians.
The Foundation was authorized by the 1982 House of Delegates of the Washington Academy of Family Physicians (WAFP). It was founded on the belief that Family Medicine offers a specialty career that is fulfilling, and enriched by the profound impact it has on the lives of both patient and practitioner. We further believe Family Medicine provides patients with health care that is comprehensive, continuing and centered on their needs as individuals and as members of their families and communities.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Washington Academy of Family Physicians Foundation is to fund worthy projects that advance the practice of Family Medicine and ultimately benefit the patients served by the Washington State family physicians. We do this by focusing on projects that:
Increase the number of family physicians
Promote educational activities
Advance research relevant to the specialty of Family Medicine
Foster leadership in health care
Organization
The Board of Directors of the WAFP Foundation sets policy and gives approval for funding grants for projects that meet the objectives and priorities of the Foundation.
Accountability for the decisions to allocate Foundation resources is to the Foundation membership and the greater community of Washington State.
The WAFP Foundation is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and is thereby able to receive tax deductible contributions.
The WAFP Foundation can accept funds directed by a will or trust.
