The Washington Academy of Family Physicians (WAFP) invites you to participate in its Advocacy Day on February 15, 2012Family Physician Day at the Capitol in Olympia, WA; 8:30 AM – 4 PM.
Family physicians are encouraged to spend the day in Olympia, listening to legislators discuss key issues for primary care physicians, including health care reform implementation, the status of patient-centered medical homes in Washington, and the impact of the state’s budget challenges on your patients. You will hear up-to-the-minute reports on pending legislation from WAFP’s lobbyist and legislative leaders. WAFP staff members and your lobbyist will help you contact your legislators for appointments in the afternoon to discuss policy issues vital to Family Medicine and your patients. Training and briefing sessions will be offered in the morning to prepare physicians who are unfamiliar or have limited experience with the advocacy process.
Your voice on the importance of a primary care based health care system and patient access to patient-centered medical home is essential to foster the reform of how health care is delivered in Washington.
