GET INSPIRED!!
The Washington Academy of Family Physicians Foundation is hosting its
9th Annual Student & Resident Retreat and you are invited!

WHAT IS THE STUDENT & RESIDENT RETREAT ALL ABOUT?

The Annual Student & Resident Retreat is a fun weekend developed for medical students and Family Medicine residents where you will learn about adventures in practicing Family Medicine. Speakers are selected who will engage throughout the weekend to not only educate, but to share experiences to inform you on what life is like as a family physician.

2012 RETREAT HIGHLIGHTS:
We are anticipating an all-star lineup of family physician leaders at the retreat, including current AAFP President, Dr. Glen Stream, and 2012 Family Physician of the Year Dr. Rich Kovar.

  • Dr. Stream will inspire and challenge each of you to make a difference in the realm of "Politics, Physician Advocacy and the Patient-Centered Medical Home.”
  • Dr. Kovar, will share his passion for underserved and international family medicine in his practical workshops on “Interesting Physical Exam Techniques” and “H&P in Overseas, Low-Resource Settings.”
  • For the first time, we are offering two resident focused sessions on "Fellowship Opportunities" and "Balancing Life and Residency."
  • And back by popular demand are sessions on Osteopathic Manipulation, Wilderness Medicine, and a faculty panel discussion on Innovations in Family Medicine Practice.

There will also be plenty of time for fellowship, relaxation, even skiing and snowboarding!  Significant others are always welcome.

There is a small registration fee which will help offset the expenses covered by the WAFP Foundation to pay for your lodging, meals, and retreat activities.
