4th Annual Student & Resident Retreat

Saturday, January 6 – Sunday, January 7, 2007
Hyak Park Lodge, Snoqualmie Pass

Attention all Family Medicine Students & Residents:

The WAFP is hosting its 4th Annual Student & Resident Retreat and you are invited! 

Come participate in a refreshing weekend completely designed around your needs as a medical student or family medicine resident.  The focus this year is on Complimentary & Alternative Medicine with an emphasis on Wilderness Medicine. The purpose of the retreat is to provide an environment for you to interact, to learn about advocacy and opportunities for involvement, and to discuss family medicine.

Speakers are engaged throughout the weekend to educate, encourage and inspire you in your chosen profession. There is also plenty of opportunity for fellowship, relaxation, and even skiing and snowboarding!  And you are welcome to bring your significant others.
 
RETREAT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
 
SATURDAY, JANUARY 6
10:00am  Meet at Hyak lodge (introductions)
11:00am  Dr. Jeff Christenson-“High Altitude Medicine/Wilderness medicine”
Noon       Lunch (Provided)
1:00pm    Dr. Vandekieft-Social Activism "Making an Impact Outside the Office: 
               Promoting Health in the Public Arena"
3:00pm    Dr. Amanda Keerbs
4:00pm    Dr. Jeffrey Walker-Wilderness medicine
5:00pm    End for day-Break for dinner

Several options: Dinner as group in North Bend (some money for dinner provided $10/per person); Night Skiing; Drinks and conversation at the Lodge following dinner.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 7
9:30 am          Breakfast (Provided)
10 - 11:30am   Dr. Ron Schneeweiss - experiential hypnosis workshop - tools for clinical practice
11:30 to Noon  Dr. Ron Schneeweiss - integrating CAM into clinical practice
Noon               End (lunch on your own/skiing/etc.)
REGISTRATION:
The cost is $25 per person to share a room, and $50 per person if you would like your own room. The registration fee covers lodging, retreat activities & speakers, and meals (Saturday Lunch, Sunday Breakfast, and dollars toward your Saturday night Dinner on the town).

Registration deadline has been extended until December 20th.

We are holding this retreat a little earlier this year, so please send us your registration as soon as possible.  The lodge has about 30 rooms, so we are somewhat limited in space.  If you would like to attend, but need us to hold your check until the first week of January, please indicate that on the form below when you send in your registration.  If you have any further questions please contact Jessica Solberg at 425-747-3100 or by e-mail at Jessica@wafp.net.
